Set to sign with Giants
McKenzie and the Giants reached an agreement Tuesday on a one-year contract, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The deal reunites him with Giants head coach Brian Daboll, who was the offensive coordinator in Buffalo from 2018 to 2021. McKenzie was the Bills' third or fourth WR for much of that time, though his receiving production peaked in 2022 (42-423-4) under OC Ken Dorsey and then crashed in 2023 (11-82-0) when the wideout left for Indianapolis. McKenzie turns 29 in April and may end up contributing more as a return man than a wide receiver in New York.

2017
McKenzie served as the No. 3 receiver for the Bills for most of last season, but his week-to-week production was spotty between inconsistent usage and some minor injuries. Still, it was a decent season overall for the 2017 fifth-rounder as he recorded 42 catches for 423 yards and four TDs. He signed with the Colts in the offseason and will compete with 2023 third-round pick Josh Downs for the team's third receiver/slot role. McKenzie's contract is just for one year and $1.23 million, so it's not a lock he makes the Week 1 roster. However, the Colts may want to begin the season with a veteran in the slot if Downs has any growing pains in training camp.
