Wallhead has been suspended for nine months due to a violation of the UFC's doping policy, the US Anti-Doping Agency reports.
ANALYSIS
Wallhead tested positive for Ostarine back in October. The substance was an unlisted ingredient in a dietary substance Wallhead was taking. Wallhead's nine-month suspension dates back to the date of his positive test, leaving him eligible to fight again in early July.

Fails USADA drug test
WelterweightOther
November 1, 2017
Wallhead (undisclosed) is facing a possible UFC anti-doping violation after failing an out-of-competition drug test from USADA collected Oct. 7, Marc Raimondi of MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
This news comes after Wallhead was forced to pull out of his fight vs. Warlley Alves at UFC Fight Night 118 last month due to an undisclosed injury. The soon-to-be 40-year-old will now go through USADA's results management and adjudication process before a possible punishment is determined. Given his age, a lengthy suspension could put his career in limbo. Wallhead has compiled an overall record of 29-11 since making his professional debut in 2005, though he's lost two straight fights -- his only two bouts in the UFC. Look for the exact details and punishment to be sorted out within the coming weeks.

To take on Warlley Alves at UFC Gdansk
WelterweightOther
September 14, 2017
Wallhead will face Warlley Alves in a welterweight bout at UFC Fight Night 118 on October 21 in Gdansk, Peter Carroll of MMFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Wallhead has yet to score his first UFC win since debuting with the promotion in Sept. 2016. Having suffered two losses since, the 37-year-old has proven that he can take a lot of punishment (about twice as much as he dishes out) but with little to show for it. "Judo" has plenty of experience to rely on going into this fight, but little that has helped against UFC fighters thus far. Wallhead maintains a 29-11 record (0-2 UFC) with 11 KO/TKOs and 10 submissions.
Given 180-day medical suspension after UFC 212
WelterweightOther
June 6, 2017
Wallhead has received a medical suspension of 180 days from the Brazilian MMA Athletic Commission following his UFC 212 loss to Luan Chagas, Guilherme Cruz of MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Wallhead threw as many punches as his opponent but with less effectiveness. Luan Chagas landed over twice as many significant strikes as Wallhead and sent him to the mat with a nasty hook in the second round, after which he clamped on a rear-naked choke for a submission win at 4:48 of Round 2. The 72 significant strikes landed to the head are probably what led to the 180-day medical suspension Wallhead was given. He will have to sit until then unless cleared earlier by a physician. Johnny Eduardo received a similar 180-day medical suspension pending medical clearance.
Remains winless in UFC career

June 3, 2017
Wallhead lost to Luan Chagas via submission (rear-naked choke) at 4:48 of Round 2 at UFC 212 on Saturday in Rio de Janeiro.
ANALYSIS
That performance might be enough to cost Wallhead his job. He fell victim to an accidental eye poke from Chagas in Round 2, but he simply wasn't able to get in any sort of rhythm against the surging young Brazilian. At age 37, things aren't going to get any better for Wallhead moving forward.
