Holobaugh was booted from the UFC in 2019 after dropping to 0-4 in the promotion, but he eventually re-earned his spot and secured his first UFC win against Austin Hubbard in August. Holobaugh will now look to keep his momentum going against Ogden, who hasn't won a fight since 2022.

Holobaugh defeated Austin Hubbard via submission (triangle choke) at 2:39 of Round 2 at UFC 292 on Saturday in Boston. With the victory, he was crowned TUF Season 31 Lightweight Champion and earns a spot back on the UFC roster.

Holobaugh battled his way back to what will effectively be his third stint with the UFC at the age of 36. He fought through a tough first round that included two Hubbard takedowns to get there, but it was Round 2 in which Holobaugh started to let his hands go, which led to the finishing sequence. A combination finishing with a right cross left Hubbard compromised, and it was during a mat transition that Holobaugh clamped on the fight-winning triangle. He called out Paddy Pimblett in his post-fight interview, which may be punching above his weight class, but who can blame a man riding high after a comeback efforts such as this.

Given a chance at redemption following back-to-back losses to Raoni Barcelos and Shane Burgos to begin his UFC career, Holobaugh once again failed to show up. Despite landing just seven less total strikes than his opponent (115-108), Holobaugh's shots did little-to-no damage against Moises. He also had difficulty maintaining an advantageous position in the rare instance he was able to get there in the first place. It was a shockingly poor performance given the fact Holobaugh's job may have very well been on the line. Starting your run with the company's with three straight setbacks is not a recipe for success.
