Jumeau defeated Daichi Abe unanimous decision (29-27, 29-28, 28-27) at UFC 221 on Saturday in Perth, Australia.
ANALYSIS
As was the case in his first two UFC bouts, it was a struggle for Jumeau in his attempt to see the final bell. He got off to a very slow start before he was able to keep Abe at bay over the final ten minutes. Jumeau didn't land all that much offense in his own right during the final two rounds but he deserved to win. The 29-year-old is now 2-1 with the company but he has shown no ability to really damage his opposition and it's highly unlikely that he will ever have meaningful fights in the UFC's 170-pound division.

Jumeau was defeated by Shinsho Anzai via unanimous decision (28-29, 28-29, 27-30) at UFC Fight Night on Friday in Japan.

Jumeau did a good job of defending the takedowns for the majority of the fight, but gave up a key takedown in the second round which certainly cost him the round. Towards the end of the second, Jumeau started to find a home for his right uppercut and continued that into the third. "The Jedi" showed great takedown defense in the third, and was even able to reverse the attempts into top position in some situations. However, he needed a finish in the third but was not able to take advantage of the opportunity to take Anzai's back toward the end of the third round. This is Jumeau's first loss in the UFC and he will undoubtedly come back a better fighter.
