FanDuel NHL: Monday Playoff Value Plays

FanDuel NHL: Monday Playoff Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NHL series.

There are, at most, four more games left in this NHL season, so your chances to play daily fantasy hockey are dwindling. That is, until next season. Let's not worry about that, though. Instead, let's focus on building a lineup for Monday's Game 4.

CAPTAIN

Evgeny Kuznetsov, WAS vs. VGK ($10,200): Kuznetsov returned from injury for Game 3, and in the process he notched two points and four shots on net. If we don't include the game where he was held to 4:26 of ice time, the Russian has a 12-game point streak wherein he's tallied 18 points total. He's been on fire in these playoffs, and if he's healthy, which he clearly seems to be, there is nothing to worry about.

FORWARD

T.J. Oshie, WAS vs. VGK ($10,200): Oshie has registered 18 points in 21 playoff games, including three in this series. Nine of those points have come with the extra man, and he's averaged 3:12 per game on the power play. He also had 18 power-play points in 74 regular-season games. Though Marc-Andre Fleury had been playing out of his mind heading into this series, in three games against the Capitals he has a 3.42 GAA and .875 save percentage.

Alex Tuch, VGK at WAS ($8,700): Tuch has been racking up the shots recently, as he has 16 of them in his last five contests. Overall, he has six goals in these playoffs, including three on the power play. The rookie also had 15 goals in 78 games this year. Though Braden Holtby has been better in the playoffs, he did have a 2.99 GAA and .907 save percentage in the regular season.

Tom Wilson, WAS vs. VGK ($7,800): With Evgeny Kuznetsov back, that means Wilson is playing on a line with him and Alex Ovechkin. That doesn't always lead to points, but he does have six goals in his last nine games. He's not the most-prolific scorer, but playing with those linemates can rub off. With only two team's worth of players to choose from, Wilson is worth a shot at this price.

DEFENSEMEN

John Carlson, WAS vs. VGK ($9,500): There is no defensemen on Carlson's level offensively left. The 28-year-old had 68 points this year, including 32 on the power play. Now he's added 18 points in 22 playoff games. On top of that, he's notched 76 shots on net. Combine that with Marc-Andre Fleury's struggles in this series, Carlson gets put over the top.

Shea Theodore, VGK at WAS ($8,600): Theodore performed solidly in his first "full" season in the NHL, notching 29 points in 61 games. That includes six goals on 144 shots. He has two points in this series, and nine points in his last 18 games as well. Plus, Theodore was hot heading into the playoffs, as he notched nine points in his final 10 regular-season games.
