Saturday is Cinco de Mayo, but before you, ahem, 'celebrate' the holiday, be sure to set your daily fantasy lineup. Here are some recommendations to help you make your decisions.
GOALIE
Connor Hellebuyck, WPG at NAS ($8,000): The four offenses in action Saturday have all been impressive, which makes selecting a goalie difficult. Here's what I know: Connor Hellebuyck has a 2.32 goals-against average and .921 save percentage in the playoffs. During the regular season, he posted a 2.36 GAA and .924 save percentage. He's also the cheapest goalie Saturday, so why not save some cash when you can still get a great netminder?
CENTER
Evgeny Kuznetsov, WAS vs. PIT ($6,800): Kuznetsov notched career highs in goals (27) and points (83) this season, and also tallied 30 power-play points. He has 10 points in the playoffs, and though most of them came against Columbus, he's still been solid in this series with two points and 13 shots on net in four games. Pittsburgh, for its part, has slumped to a 3.37 GAA on the road.
Bryan Little, WPG at NAS ($4,600): Little didn't have a great year, but still managed 16 goals and 27 assists. That's pretty good for a depth forward. He's also been playing well recently, with four points in his last five outings. The postseason has been less kind to Pekka Rinne, who sports a 2.86 GAA and .909 save percentage through 10 appearances.
WING
Patric Hornqvist, PIT at WAS ($6,400): Hornqvist has tallied four points in this series, with a point in every playoff game he's played except for one. In fact, beyond that, he has racked up 23 points and 76 shots on net in his last 20 contests. Putting pucks on goal has never been an issue for the Swede, as he directed 247 shots on net in 70 games this year. Though Braden Holtby has played well in the postseason, he underperformed with a 2.99 GAA and .907 save percentage during the regular season.
Viktor Arvidsson, NAS vs. WPG ($6,300): Arvidsson hasn't had a great postseason, with six points in 10 games, but he's certainly stayed active. The 25-year-old has put 35 shots on net after registering 247 shots in 78 games this year. He's also averaged 2:43 a night on the power play during the playoffs, which increases his fantasy potential.
T.J. Oshie, WAS vs. PIT ($5,300): Speaking of power-play ice time, Oshie has averaged a whopping 4:12 per game with the extra man this postseason, where four of his five points have come. He also has notched a point in back-to-back games. As previously noted, the Penguins had a 3.37 GAA on the road.
DEFENSEMEN
John Carlson, WAS vs. PIT ($6,000): Carlson had a great regular season, tallying 15 goals and 53 assists, with 32 of his points coming on the power play. He was fantastic against Columbus, notching nine points in six games, but he only has one in this series. Yet he's still struck 14 shots on goal against Pittsburgh and seen plenty of power-play time. It wouldn't be the slightest bit surprising for his scoring to pick back up.
Jacob Trouba, WPG at NAS ($4,900): Trouba only contributes a bit from a scoring perspective, but he adds fantasy value in other ways. He's notched 27 shots on net in nine playoff games and blocked 23 shots. That comes after he had 144 shots and 100 blocked shots in 55 games this year. As long as he stays active, he could pay off at this price.
