DraftKings NHL: Wednesday Picks

This article is part of our DraftKings NHL series.

GOALIE

Cory Schneider, NJD at VGK ($7,000): Rolling out Schneider at T-Mobile Arena is a huge risk, but the savings open up spending room for skaters, and the backstop is now three games removed from the groin injury that cost him an entire month. There's also potential for this to be a letdown spot for Vegas, as the Golden Knights are missing a couple key forwards and are playing the first contest of a four-game homestand.

CENTER

Sidney Crosby, PIT at NYR ($7,300): The Rangers are allowing the most goals per game (3.6) in the league since the All-Star break and the third most high-danger scoring chances per 60 minutes (12.94) for the campaign, so this checks out as a cushy matchup. Crosby has collected a goal, five assists and eight shots through his past three games while continuing to log huge minutes. His salary isn't prohibitive, either.

William Nylander, TOR vs. DAL ($4,900): Life without Auston Matthews (shoulder) hasn't been a dumpster fire for Nylander. The 21-year-old forward has collected a modest four assists through six games, and he's also been centering Mitch Marner of late. Nylander is worth a look with Dallas playing its third road game in four days and losing the first two.

WING

Taylor Hall, NJD at VGK ($7,100): With consecutive pointless outings, look for Hall to return to form against the Golden Knights. Also, because it's a daunting draw on paper, Hall's ownership should stay in check. However, he's clearly a matchup-proof option with an elite 1.46 goals, 3.61 points and 11.22 shots per hour this season.

Corey Perry, ANA vs. VAN ($5,700): This is a solid matchup for Perry and the Ducks, as Vancouver enters with an active 4-12-3 record while allowing 3.34 goals per 60 minutes. Perry has also marked the scoresheet in six of his past seven games for three goals and six assists. Additionally, his 10.9 shooting percentage is well below the 15.3 mark he posted over a six-year span prior to last season.

Jake Guentzel, PIT at NYR ($5,900): The sophomore connected with Sidney Crosby for 4.31 goals per 60 minutes last season, so banking on positive regression to this year's 2.92 mark is in play. As noted, the Rangers are struggling, and Guentzel has contest-winning upside with five multi-point games in the past month. Just note that his floor is also low.

DEFENSE

Kris Letang, PIT at NYR ($5,700): Through 18 games dating back to Feb. 1, Letang has collected three goals, 12 points, 44 shots and 28 blocked shots while logging 25:13 of ice time. Additionally, he's resumed his quarterback role on the No. 1 power-play following a brief hiatus, so look for him to capitalize on the soft matchup against the Rangers. This price stands out as a clear discount, too.

Brandon Montour, ANA vs. VAN ($3,900): A high-floor option at his salary, Montour is receiving top-pairing minutes and skating with the No. 1 power-play unit. It hasn't fully translated to offensive production, but he's still collected a reasonable four assists, 13 shots and nine blocked shots through his past nine outings. The opportunity is there against the vulnerable Canucks, too.
