DraftKings NHL: Friday Picks

This article is part of our DraftKings NHL series.

GOALIE

Devan Dubnyk, MIN vs. SJ ($7,800): The veteran has posted a 13-3-3 record with a .924 save percentage and 2.44 GAA since returning from a lower-body injury in late December, and he's been even better at home during that stretch with an 8-1-3, .934 and 2.06 stat line. This is also the final leg of a four-game road trip through the Central Division for the Sharks, and they've scored just five goals through the first three games.

CENTER

Bo Horvat, VAN at ARI ($6,100): Not only are the Coyotes on the second leg of a back-to-back set, they're also allowing a healthy 3.17 goals and 12.24 high-danger scoring chances per 60 minutes this season. It sets up as a ripe matchup for Horvat and the Canucks, and the young center has recorded four goals, two assists and 17 shots through his past six outings.

Mika Zibanejad, NYR vs. DET ($5,500): After kick-starting the season on a point-per-game pace through the first 22 contests, Zibanejad has recorded just six goals and three assists through his latest 31 outings. Still, he skated on an encouraging line with Chris Kreider and Pavel Buchnevich last time out, and the Red Wings enter on the second leg of a back-to-back set. The asking price is also reasonable for a top-six center who also receives consistent power-play time.

WING

Brock Boeser, VAN at ARI ($6,600): The rookie has posted a high-end 1.64 goals, 3.09 points and 9.95 shots per 60 minutes this season, and as noted, this is a cushy matchup. Boeser has also combined with center Bo Horvat for an impressive 4.23 goals per 60 minutes this season, so the duo check out as a solid stack against Arizona.

Nino Niederreiter, MIN vs. SJ ($4,700): The winger has recorded just two goals and an assist through 11 games since returning from a lower-body injury earlier this month. However, he's recorded 21 shots through his past six games with just a single tally to show for it, and his 2.1 points per 60 minutes are a far cry from last season's 2.77 mark. Positive regression is ahead, and this is a manageable price.

Chris Kreider, NYR vs. DET ($4,300): After returning from a 24-game absence and proving his healthy Friday, look for Kreider to return a profit on this low salary. He's skating in a top-six role alongside Mika Zibanejad and the duo checks out as a cost-effective stack, as the duo has clicked for a respectable 3.81 goals per 60 minutes this season.

DEFENSE

Brandon Montour, ANA vs. EDM ($3,900): The 23-year-old defenseman has averaged 23:22 of ice time through his past five games and collected an assist, 13 shots and eight blocked shots. It's modest production, but Montour also skated with the No. 1 power-play unit last time out, and the Oilers allowed the most goals per 60 minutes (9.96) while shorthanded and own the worst penalty-kill percentage (72.9) in the league.

Brady Skjei, NYR vs. DET ($3,900): Another young, low-priced option playing in a more prominent role, Skjei is projected to skate with the No. 1 power-play unit Sunday. He's an affordable addition to a Blueshirts stack, and offers a respectable fantasy floor through his 119 shots and 92 blocked shots this season. Additionally, his 0.89 points per 60 minutes lag way behind the 1.67 mark he posted in 2016-17, so there's unreached offense potential.
