FanDuel NHL: Monday Value Plays

FanDuel NHL: Monday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NHL series.

Goalie

Jonathan Quick, LA at CHI ($8,500): Quick hasn't performed as well as he has in years past, but he's still more than capable of shutting a team down, just as he did to Monday's opponent, the Blackhawks. Over his last four games against Chicago, Quick is 4-0-0 and has allowed a total of five goals. Chicago averages 34.8 shots on goal per game, which ranks second, ideally giving Quick plenty of opportunities to rack up fantasy points with saves.

Center

Ryan Johansen, NSH vs OTT ($6,100): The Senators have allowed 19 goals and 31 assists to centers over their last 13 games, and the second-most fantasy points to the position over the last month. Johansen has 36 points, 12 of which have come on the power play, where he's averaged 3:11 of ice time.

Erik Haula, VGK vs ANH ($6,500): Haula has been a great asset to the Golden Knights with 22 goals — eight on the power play — and 20 assists. The fifth-year NHLer has three goals and three assists in his last five games against the Ducks and points in back-to-back contests. Vegas has excelled at home with a 22-4-2 record, and so has Haula, with 19 points in 22 games at T-Mobile Arena.

Wing

Craig Smith, NSH vs OTT ($5,300): Smith has spent most of his time skating with Kyle Turris and Kevin Fiala on the second line. He has a point in three straight games with a goal and two assists over that span. Smith averages 5.86 high-danger scoring chances per 60 minutes, which is 11th in the NHL of all skaters, and he also averages 11.31 shots per 60 as well. Eight of Smith's 17 goals have come on the power play, as he'll look to exploit Ottawa's 29th-ranked penalty kill.

David Perron, VGK vs ANH ($6,200): The veteran has recorded a point in 12 of his last 15 games with five goals and 14 assists over that span. In his career against the Ducks, Perron has recorded 23 points in 30 contests.

Reilly Smith, VGK vs ANH ($6,400): The sixth-year NHLer has five goals and seven assists with 3.42 shots on goal per game over a seven-game point streak. Smith has been a huge asset on Vegas' first line with William Karlsson and Jonathan Marchessault. He also has 11 power-play points while skating on the team's ninth-ranked unit.

Defense

Ryan Ellis, NSH vs OTT ($4,900): Nashville has a few defensemen that are in play on most nights, but Ellis is the guy that usually brings the most value. He has a point in two of his last three games, has nine points in 19 games, and is offering peripheral production with 2.42 shots on goal and 1.84 blocked shots on average.

Nate Schmidt, VGK vs ANH ($4,300): Schmidt, formerly property of the Washington Capitals, has five goals and 24 assists in 58 games for the Golden Knights. The 26-year-old has recorded a point in seven of his last eight games with two goals and six assists over that span. The Ducks have allowed the fourth-most fantasy points to defensemen over the last month, leaving Schmidt in a good spot to produce at a bargain.
