DraftKings NHL: Tuesday Picks

DraftKings NHL: Tuesday Picks

This article is part of our DraftKings NHL series.

GOALIE

Matt Murray, PIT vs. VGK ($7,500): This will be the fifth consecutive road game for Vegas, and it sets up as a letdown spot after an excellent 4-3 win over Washington on Sunday. The Penguins have won six straight home games, and Murray's manageable salary makes him a potential contrarian option.

CENTER

Logan Couture, SAN at COL ($6,700): Colorado enters this contest in underwhelming form (1-3-1 record with 17 goals allowed), and the Avs are also without star Nathan MacKinnon (shoulder). This checks out as a sneaky matchup for Couture and the Sharks, and the new No. 1 center has recorded five goals, seven points and 18 shots through his past seven games.

Nico Hischier, NJD at OTT ($5,300): The rookie has gone 15 straight games without a multi-point showing, and he sports an unsustainably low 5.6 shooting percentage during that stretch. Hischier has clicked with linemate Taylor Hall for a respectable 3.85 goals per 60 minutes this season. Ottawa has also allowed 3.46 goals and 12.64 high-danger scoring chances per hour since its mid-November slide, which has resulted in a 9-22-4 record. It's a ripe matchup for statistical correction for Hischier.

WING

Jonathan Huberdeau, FLA vs. VAN ($6,700): This sets up as a target-worthy matchup for the Cats with Vancouver allowing 2.97 goals and 11.53 high-danger scoring chances per 60 minutes on the road. Huberdeau is in the midst of a scorching stretch with nine goals, 10 assists and 33 shots through his past 16 games. Additionally, he's combined with new center Vincent Trocheck for 6.65 goals per hour this season.

Travis Konecny, PHI at CAR ($5,500): Carolina sports the third worst team save percentage in the league, so there's sneaky upside here for Philly and Konecny. The sophomore has excelled since being promoted to the No. 1 line with seven goals, eight assists and 41 shots through 16 contests. He's also combined with Sean Couturier and Claude Giroux for 4.12 goals per hour this season.

Corey Perry, ANA at BUF ($4,400): This salary makes Perry a sound option to target. He is coming off a monster four-assist, six-shot showing Monday against the Maple Leafs, and Buffalo checks out as a more favorable matchup. The Sabres allow the fourth most goals per 60 minutes (3.23) in the league, after all.

DEFENSE

Shayne Gostisbehere, PHI at CAR ($5,600): After recording just a single assist through seven games, Gostisbehere has marked the scoresheet in consecutive outings with a goal, two helpers, eight shots and four blocked shots. The power-play quarterback sports an elite 2.13 points per 60 minutes for the campaign, and as noted, the Hurricanes don't project as a daunting matchup.

Torey Krug, BOS at DET ($5,500): There's nothing scary about a matchup against the Red Wings, as Detroit has won just one of its past six home games while allowing 3.45 goals per 60 minutes. Krug enters in excellent form with two goals, seven assists and 21 shots through his past eight contests. Additionally, his 2.01 points per 60 hour is also a high-end mark among defenseman.
