FantasyDraft NHL: Thursday Values

This article is part of our FantasyDraft NHL series.

GOALIE

St. Louis Blues, STL vs. ANA ($16,300): The Ducks have only averaged 29.3 shots on net per game, while the Blues have, coincidentally, allowed a mere 29.3 shots on goal per contest. Anaheim is also 3-3-4 in their last 10 contests. Jake Allen has a 2.52 GAA, and in his last eight tilts he has a 1.92 GAA and a .927 save percentage.

CENTER

Claude Giroux, PHI vs. BUF ($13,500): Giroux has 34 points in 30 games, and he's notched two points in each of his last three contests. He also has 10 power-play points with at least 19 points with the extra man in each of his last eight campaigns. The Sabres have a team GAA of 3.32, fourth worst in the NHL, and have allowed 32.0 shots on net per game as well.

Brayden Point, TAM at ARI ($12,100): Don't forget about Tampa's "other" center in Point. He has 28 points in 30 games and is currently enjoying a five-game point streak. The Coyotes are tied with the Panthers for the league's worst team GAA (3.42) and have a .895 team save percentage.

WING

Artemi Panarin, CLM vs. NYI ($13,400): The Islanders will be playing on the second night of a back-to-back, and their game on Wednesday didn't go well as both of their goalies ended up having to play. On top of that, New York has the 30th-ranked penalty kill. Panarin has started 64.8 percent of his shifts in the offensive zone, most of any Blue Jacket, and he has 26 points in 31 games even though he only has an 8.1 shooting percentage. His previous career low is 14.7, so that number will likely improve.

Logan Couture, SAN at CGY ($12,200): Couture has averaged 15.72 fantasy points per game. If you want to get a player who has averaged more, you have to spend $13,600. He's already notched 15 goals, and he has nine points on the power play in 29 games. In his last 15 outings, Mike Smith has a 2.96 GAA and a .903 save percentage. The Flames also has the 26th-ranked penalty kill.

Mikko Rantanen, COL vs. FLA ($9,200): As previously noted, the Panthers are tied with the Coyotes with a league-worst 3.42 team GAA. On top of that, Florida has given up 35.3 shots on net per contest, which is second most in the NHL. Rantanen has averaged 4:18 per game on the power play, and he's tallied 12 points with an extra man. He also has five points in his last six tilts.

DEFENSEMEN

Aaron Ekblad, FLA at COL ($10,400): Ekblad has three goals in his last five games and he's also tallied 47 shots on net in his last 12 contests. Last year he notched 225 shots in 68 tilts, so we know he's proficient at putting pucks on goal. Colorado has given up 32.1 shots on net per game, and it also has a team GAA of 3.30.

Mikhail Sergachev, TAM at ARI ($9,200): Let's go back to the game where the team with the league's best offense is squaring off with the team with the league's worst defense. Sergachev has started 70.7 percent of his shifts in the offensive zone, most on the Lightning and one of the highest totals in the league. It has paid off, as the Russian rookie has seven points in his last eight tilts.
