FantasyDraft NHL: Sunday Values

This article is part of our FantasyDraft NHL series.

Five of eight teams taking the ice Sunday also played Saturday. That said, here are some recommendations…

GOALIE

Chicago Blackhawks, CHI vs. ARI ($17,300):Corey Crawford is back, and he brings his 2.27 GAA and .930 save percentage with him. Chicago didn't play Saturday, and the Coyotes rank 30th in goals for per game and last in team GAA. The Blackhawks are as close to a lock to win as you are going to find.

CENTER

Brayden Schenn, STL vs. BUF ($13,800): Schenn picked up two more points Saturday afternoon, giving him 36 in 30 contests. He's also now notched six points in his last three tilts. The Sabres have a team GAA of 3.38 and a team save percentage of .894. Schenn is also a power-play specialist, as he recorded at least 19 points with the extra man in his last three campaigns.

Jonathan Toews, CHI vs. ARI ($13,200): Toews is currently enjoying a four-game point streak and is playing a lot more on the power play. He's averaged 3:46 per game with the extra man, his most since 2008-09. As previously noted, the Coyotes have struggled defensively with a 3.52 team GAA prior to Saturday.

WING

James van Riemsdyk, TOR vs. EDM ($12,300): The Oilers are on the second night of a back-to-back, and with Cam Talbot out, that could mean Laurent Brossoit starting on consecutive nights. This would bode well for van Riemsdyk and the Leafs given that Brossoit had a 3.71 GAA and a .877 save percentage before Saturday's contest with the Canadiens. Van Riemsdyk has 14 goals in 29 games, including eight on the power play. That latter number is notable since Edmonton has the league's worst penalty kill.

Brandon Saad CHI vs. ARI ($11,600): Saad has started 67.7 percent of his shifts in the offensive zone, most on the Blackhawks, and he's put 91 shots on net (second most). Though Saad only has five assists, he's found twine 10 times, and his prolific shooting could reap benefits in this matchup. The Coyotes will be on the road for their second game in as many days, and Scott Wedgewood (2.97 GAA, .908 save percentage) will likely be in net.

Milan Lucic, EDM at TOR ($11,000):Frederik Andersen has played well for the Maple Leafs, but he started Saturday. That likely means Curtis McElhinney (3.06 GAA, .900 save percentage) will be in net for Toronto, which certainly would make for a more enticing opportunity for Lucic. The power forward has 10 points in his last 10 contests, and he just tallied two power-play points Saturday.

DEFENSEMEN

Rasmus Ristolainen, BUF at STL ($9,300): With Carter Hutton banged up and questionable to play, Jake Allen could have to mind the net again, or Ville Husso may get his first NHL start. Ristolainen, meanwhile, has put 56 shots on net in 20 games, averaging 3:42 on the power play. One place St. Louis has struggled a bit is on the penalty kill, where it ranks 23rd.

Morgan Rielly, TOR vs. EDM ($10,200): Rielly already has 20 points in 30 games, which puts the 23-year-old on pace for the best season of his career. He's also seen an increase in power-play time, which he's turned into seven points. The Oilers have the worst penalty kill in the league, and Edmonton's woeful goaltending is a strong reason to consider Rielly on Sunday.
