Latest Fantasy Rumors
Will benefit from extra day off
Nylander, who has missed the opening three contests of Toronto's first-round series against Boston because of an undisclosed injury, will benefit from the extra day off before Game 4 on Saturday, coach Sheldon Keefe told Mark Masters of TSN on Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Toronto, which suffered a 4-2 loss to Boston in Game 3 on Wednesday, is getting two days off between clashes instead of the typical one day during a postseason series. Nylander was a big part of the Maple Leafs' attack during the regular season, supplying 40 goals and 98 points across 82 appearances. If he's ready to return for Game 4, he might skate on the third line alongside Calle Jarnkrok and Pontus Holmberg. Putting him on that unit would give the Maple Leafs three dangerous lines.

Nylander doesn't get the same publicity as Auston Matthews, Mitch Marner, or John Tavares, but with career-best marks in goals (34), assists (46), points (80), shots on goal (256), average time on ice (18:16) and power-play points (31) a season ago, he was every bit as valuable to the Leafs as the other three. Well, maybe not Matthews. The production with the man advantage was especially nice to see, as that has never been a big strength of Nylander's. The winger's immediate ceiling may be somewhat capped due to all the talented offensive forwards on the Toronto roster, but a multi-category, point-per-game fantasy producer who will play nearly this entire year at age 26 is worth an early-round pick in any format.
