Brust continues to impress with the Abbotsford Heat, as he is 8-3-1 with a 1.26 goals against average and a .951 save percentage.
ANALYSIS
Brust wasn't expected to be the leader in net this season, but after beginning 2012-13 with three quick shutouts, he has emerged as the goalie playing the best hockey thus far. With Flames starter Miikka Kiprusoff getting older, Brust could be a part of Calgary's future.

Brust is a solid goaltended, but he'll only see time with Wild should injuries strike the team's netminders. He'll get plenty of reps with Houston of the AHL.
In Brust we trust. Playing for the AHL and Wild minor-league affiliate Houston Aeros, the young netminder recorded a solid 2.27 goal against average to compliment a 24-16-3 record. Although Backstrom is clearly the favorite to halt pucks in Minnesota, Brust is a capable option with NHL experience on his resume after he played 11 games for the kings in 2006-07. Brust should have a nice future with the Wild, but Backstrom is the man for now and Josh Harding is also waiting for a full-time chance.
He will play in the minors this season unless injuries deplete the Kings in goal.
It would take injuries and a small miracle for him to play in the NHL this season. He could get his shot in the 2007-08 training camp.
