Aikens may be to small to be a safety and not quite quick enough to be a corner in the NFL. It's because of this that he projects to be no more than a backup at either position.
Aikens was the Dolphins' fourth-round pick this past May and is getting a look at both corner and safety in practice. Aikens has the size to be an above average bump and run corner but with Cortland Finnegan and Brent Grimes entrenched as the top two cornerbacks he isn't likely to see the field a ton unless there is an injury this season.
