Now entering his fourth season, Chris Gragg is a young veteran who has proven what he can do in the NFL. He has limited upside as a receiver and doesn't hold much fantasy value. Gragg is likely in a roster battle with newcomer Jim Dray.
Through two NFL seasons, Gragg has come up with just 12 receptions for 101 yards and two touchdowns with the Bills, evidencing his reserve tight end status. Now, with Buffalo having signed starter Charles Clay this offseason, Gragg figures to continue in a backup role that severely restricts his fantasy value. If rookie Nick O'Leary makes a good impression, Gragg could even run the risk of getting cut.
As a 2013 draft pick, Gragg has a chance to make the 2014 roster and possibly see some playing time in 2014. For fantasy it would take an injury to Scott Chandler plus a few other positive advancements for Gragg to make any kind of impact.
Seventh round pick Chris Gragg is an intriguing name to remember for very deep fantasy leagues. New head coach Doug Marrone has a history of developing tight ends and Gragg will compete for primary backup duties behind starter Scott Chandler. Chandler is coming off of an ACL injury, so there is a chance for Gragg to see more playing time as a rookie than most would expect.
