Green-Beckham was arrested Wednesday in Springfield, Mo. for possession of less than 35 grams of marijuana and resisting/interfering with an arrest, Harrison Keegan of the Springfield News-Ledger reports.
ANALYSIS
It's the latest in a long line of legal issues for Green-Beckham, a second-round pick of the Titans in 2015. The wideout played two seasons in the NFL before being cut by the Eagles shortly before training camp in 2017. Considering Green-Beckham's name hadn't been popping up on the workout circuit in recent months, this latest arrest only further dims the possibility of the 25-year-old appearing in the NFL again.

In his two years in the NFL, the 24-year-old has been unable to tap into the physical potential a 6-5, 237-pound receiver with a 4.49 40-yard dash time ought to have. After washing out in Tennessee in 2015, Green-Beckham caught on with the Eagles last season and only managed 392 yards and two scores on 36 receptions. After the acquisitions of Alshon Jeffery and Torrey Smith, Green-Beckham would have been hard-pressed to improve on those numbers with Jordan Matthews still ahead of him on the depth chart. With Nelson Agholor also on the roster and after the additions of Shelton Gibson and Mack Hollins in the 2017 NFL Draft, Green-Beckham was deemed expendable and eventually cleared waivers in early July. It remains to be seen when and where Green-Beckham will be given a second chance.
A second-round pick in 2015, Green-Beckham showed signs of breaking out late last year in Tennessee with two 100-yard games and a touchdown in a three-week span. But he faded during the season's final two games, dealing with a hamstring injury that nagged him. At 6-5, 237, Green-Beckham's one of the biggest targets in the league, and his catch radius is enormous, allowing him to pluck balls out of the air at a point where defensive backs can't even contest them. He also has 4.49 40 speed, unusual for someone so big. Now with the Eagles after the Titans decided to move on, Green-Beckham joins a wideout group that looks like a major weakness. With Nelson Agholor, Josh Huff, Chris Given and Rueben Randle still failing to impress, it isn't out of the question that DGB could push for a starting job or the No. 3 spot early in the season.
Uncertainty abounds in the Tennessee passing game, but that's a good thing for a second-round rookie trying to climb the depth chart. With new quarterback Marcus Mariota likely under center (it's possible Zach Mettenberger pushes him in training camp), there really are no sure things from last year. Possession receiver Kendall Wright is the favorite to be the team's target leader, but after that Green-Beckham will compete with Justin Hunter and free-agent signees Hakeem Nicks and Harry Douglas for looks. At 6-5, 237, Green-Beckham is massive, and his 4.49 40 time is unusually fast for a player his size. He also has good hands and ball skills, thanks in part to his huge catch radius. While Green-Beckham's route running needs work, and he's been in trouble off the field (a couple marijuana-related arrests), he has upside.
