Return this season not likely
Smith (suspension) missed his 11th consecutive game Saturday at San Diego State, and according to the Las Vegas Review Journal, a return this season is looking unlikely.

It's been almost three weeks since Smith was dealt an indefinite suspension, and there's still no resolution in sight. "The longer things go, the more probability would be that he won't return," UNLV coach Marvin Menzies said, later adding "but we haven't made a final decision on that yet." Smith had been a rotation player early in the year, and even put up 17 points in the season's second game against Prairie View A&M. His status with the program quickly deteriorated, however, and his playing time went with it. The junior college transfer may have to settle for righting the ship in 2018-19, which will be his final year with the program.
