Yahoo DFS Basketball: Sunday Picks

This article is part of our Yahoo DFS Basketball series.

GUARD

Damian Lillard, POR at LAC ($46): Few players are performing like Lillard, as he's led his team to a perfect record since the All-Star break. Not only has Lillard scored at least 42 fantasy points in 12 of his last 14 games, he's averaging nearly 50 fantasy points per game in that span. That sort of form pairs beautifully with this matchup, as Lillard faces a Clippers defense that ranks bottom 10 in fantasy points allowed to guards. That was clear when Lillard dropped 53.3 fantasy points in his last game against Los Angeles on Jan. 30.

Jrue Holiday, NOP vs. BOS ($36):
Holiday has been superb since DeMarcus Cousins (Achilles) got injured, as he has at least 44 fantasy points in four consecutive games. That streak extends much longer than that too, as he has at least 32 fantasy points in 29 of his last 32 games. That's all you can ask for from a $36 player, as Holiday gets to face a shorthanded Celtics defense without Jaylen Brown and Marcus Smart.

Guard to Avoid:

Kyle Lowry, TOR vs. OKC ($30): Lowry has been inconsistent all season, and he's difficult to trust in this tough matchup. He has reached 40 fantasy points twice in his last 11 games and played more than 33 minutes once in his last six games. Oklahoma City allows the second-fewest fantasy points to opposing point guards.

FORWARD

Anthony Davis, NOP vs. BOS ($57): If you think Lillard is hot, wait until you hear these Davis numbers. Not only is Davis approaching 70 fantasy points per game since the All-Star break, he's scored more than 70 fantasy points in seven of his last 14 games. He could abuse this small Boston frontcourt. The Celtics allow 18.1 Points and 9.9 rebounds per game to power forwards, both of which rank bottom 10 in the league.

Evan Turner, POR at LAC ($10):
Finding minimum priced players on a slate like this is key, so you can use players like James Harden and Anthony Davis. Turner's role has increased, as he has at least 15 fantasy points in five of his last six games while averaging 20 fantasy points per game in that span. He faces a Clippers defense that allows the second-most fantasy points to \ small forwards.

Forward to Avoid:

Taj Gibson, MIN vs. HOU ($19): Gibson has actually been too good to be a $19 player, but his limited upside and tough matchup make him a tough sell on this slate. Not only has Gibson failed to crack 23 fantasy points in five of his last six games, he has struggled against the Rockets all season. Gibson has just 33 combined fantasy points in his two games against the Rockets, as they allow the fewest fantasy points in the league to power forwards.

CENTER

Greg Monroe, BOS at NOP ($10): With Boston dealing with so many injuries, Monroe has taken on a much bigger role the last few games. Monroe actually has at least 21 fantasy points in six of his last seven games, as he's scored 35 fantasy points in back-to-back games. He's shown the ability to put up elite numbers in limited minutes. The matchup against New Orleans is hard to overlook too, as it ranks 29th in total defense.

Center to Avoid:

Jusuf Nurkic, POR at LAC ($25): Nurkic's inconsistency has driven fantasy owners crazy all season, as he regularly fails to crack 20 minutes. That's been the case in five of his last seven games, as he's played 23 or fewer minutes in those five outings. It shows in his fantasy numbers too, as Nurkic failed to crack 25 fantasy points in all five of those games. Nurkic also faces one of the best defensive centers in the league in DeAndre Jordan.
