FanDuel NBA: Sunday Value Plays

FanDuel NBA: Sunday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NBA series.

Guards:

Kyrie Irving, BOS vs. CLE ($8,400): Irving recently returned from injury just three games ago and that has lowered his price to this friendly number. Prior to that three-game stretch in which Irving was limited, he had at least 41 fantasy points in five-straight games, including scoring at least 30 fantasy points in 20 of his previous 21 games. What really makes him intriguing is this revenge matchup, with Cleveland allowing the third-most fantasy points to opposing point guards while ranking 29th in defensive efficiency.

Ish Smith, DET at ATL ($6,100): Smith has provided great value since obtaining a starting point guard role, as he's approaching 30 fantasy points per game in in contests that Reggie Jackson has missed since the beginning of last season. His recent form has been superb too, as Smith has at least 24 fantasy points in 10 of his last 11 games. All that pales into consideration to this favorable matchup, with Atlanta ranking 26th in defensive efficiency.

Cory Joseph, IND vs. NYK ($4,700): Joseph has been a dud in his two starts since Darren Collison went down, but there's reason to believe he can provide some great value. The main reason is his expanded role, as he's played at least 34 minutes in both of his starts. While Joseph only scored 25.2 combined fantasy points in those two games, he's traditionally been a fantasy point per dollar player. This poor form has allowed his price to stay at a dirt-cheap price and now's the time to buy in on him before he inevitably starts reprieving his normal fantasy output. New York is really struggling against point guards right now too, allowing the fourth-most fantasy points to the position across their last five games.

Forwards:

Michael Beasley, NYK at IND ($6,600): Beasley has been the go-to guy in the Knicks offense when Kristaps Porzingis is out, as he's averaging over 30 fantasy points per game in that role. What's really enticing is the fact that he leads the team in scoring and shots taken when Porzingis is out, as he regularly takes 15 shots a game and just came off a 42-fantasy point outing in the first game without Porzingis. Indiana is a defense worth exploiting too, as they rank 20th in defensive efficiency.

Joe Ingles, UTA at POR ($4,900): Utah just made an investment in Ingles at the trade deadline, as they chose to swing Rodney Hood to the Cleveland Cavaliers. Not only does that open up minutes for Ingles, it opens up scoring chances too. That was evident in his first game since the move, as he dropped 36.5 fantasy points for the second time in three games. That's excellent value from a player south of $5,000 and he's averaging 30 minutes a game as well.

JaMychal Green, MEM at OKC ($4,600): Green has been destroying his price tag all season, as his 22 fantasy points per game already provides 5X value. That's been even better recently, as he's averaging 10.1 points, 9.0 rebounds, 1.2 assists, 0.7 steals and 0.4 blocks across his last 19 games. That's 26 fantasy points per game and he's playing close to 30 minutes during that span as well. Power forward is a major weakness for Oklahoma City too, as Green should have a favorable matchup against the defensively inept Carmelo Anthony.

Centers:

Andre Drummond, DET at ATL ($11,000): Drummond is a great centerpiece to build around, as he's in the best stretch of his career and has an intriguing matchup. Let's start with his production of late, as Drummond has at least 45 fantasy points in six-straight games while averaging over 52 fantasy points per game across his last 21 outings. That absurd output just adds to this strong matchup, as he faces an Atlanta defense that allows the second-most fantasy points to opposing centers. That's evident by the fact that Drummond is averaging 14 points, 19.5 rebounds, 7.5 assists and 2.0 blocks in two games against them this season.

Kyle O'Quinn, NYK at IND ($4,200): It's shocking that his price hasn't risen more, as O'Quinn is looking at one of the biggest roles of his career right now. It would be one thing if just Kristaps Porzingis was injured, but the fact that Enes Kanter is as well just adds to O'Quinn's value. That means he's a near guarantee for 25 minutes of action, as he's scored at least 21 fantasy points in the last 11 games when he's played at least 17 minutes. His fantasy production has been incredible in that span too, averaging over 26 fantasy points per game during that stretch. Not to mention, Indiana allows the eighth-most fantasy points to opposing centers this season.
