Yahoo DFS Basketball: Tuesday Picks

Yahoo DFS Basketball: Tuesday Picks

This article is part of our Yahoo DFS Basketball series.

Guards

Bradley Beal, WSH at PHI ($41): Beal has been an absolute stud since John Wall (knee) went down, as he's taking over this team. He leads the Wizards in minutes, shots taken, scoring and usage since his injury while leading them to an undefeated record. Beal also has at least 45 fantasy points in four of his last five games, while averaging over 48 fantasy points per game in that span. The Sixers really struggle against opposing shooting guards, allowing the seventh-most fantasy points to the position for the season.

Josh Jackson, PHX at LAL ($16): Jackson is really starting to come into his own as a rookie, as he's scored at least 20 points in four straight games. Jackson has benefited from increased minutes, and that trend should continue with the Suns firmly out of the playoff race. Phoenix will also be without Devin Booker on Tuesday, which should open up even more minutes and shots for Jackson.

Guard to Avoid

Kyle Lowry, TOR vs. BOS ($31): Lowry is mired in one of his slumps right now, as he's scored 33 or fewer fantasy points in six of his last seven games. He's also scored fewer than 20 fantasy points in two of those outings, and the fact that he faces a stout Celtics defense just adds to the issues. Entering Tuesday, Boston ranks first in defensive efficiency, while allowing the fourth-fewest fantasy points to opposing point guards.

Forwards

Al Horford, BOS at TOR ($33): Horford has been one of the most reliable players in fantasy this season, as he's only scored below 23 fantasy points once, while scoring fewer than 27 fantasy points just four times all season. Horford comes into this game hot, having scored at least 37 fantasy points five times in his last six games.

Markieff Morris, WSH at PHI ($22): Morris is the other Wizard who's seen a major increase in role since Wall went down, and he's in the best stretch of his season right now. Not only does he have at least 27 fantasy points in six straight games, but Morris has seen a drastic increase in field goal attempts, minutes played, and usage. That's about all you can ask for from a $22 player.

Forward to Avoid

Jabari Parker, MIL at NYK ($18): The hype train on Parker is strong right now, so let amateurs ride the bandwagon and kill their lineups. Whiel Parker has looked good in his first two games back, he's still on a minutes restriction that will continue to cap his upside for at least the next few games. When he gets closer to 25 minutes per game -- which may not be until after the break -- then it will be time to jump back on.

Centers

Marc Gasol, MEM at ATL ($32): It's rare to see a player's price so much lower than his point-per-game average, as Gasol is averaging 38 fantasy points per game. That makes no sense with this price, especially when you consider he's averaging over 42 fantasy points per game across his last five outings. Atlanta allows the most fantasy points in the league to opposing centers, so in my mind Gasol is a virtual must-play at this price.

Jarrett Allen, BRK vs. HOU ($13): Allen is having a mid-season breakout for Brooklyn, and he's been one of the best rookies the past couple weeks. Allen has played season-highs in minutes in each of his last three games, and he's averaging 31 fantasy points per game in that span. This kind of upside at $13 is impossible to find, and he should continue to see big minutes down the stretch after the Nets parted ways with Tyler Zeller on Monday.

Center to Avoid

Steven Adams, OKC at GS ($28): Golden State is always a difficult matchup for traditional centers. Adams is averaging just 10.3 points, 5.7 rebounds, 0.8 blocks and 1.0 steals in his last seven meetings against Golden State, which equates to less than 20 fantasy points per game. While he'll likely do better than those averages Tuesday, that's a lot of ground to make up for a $28 player.
