FanDuel NBA: Monday Value Plays

FanDuel NBA: Monday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NBA series.

Monday brings only six games in the NBA, but there are still plenty of elite options to choose from for your FanDuel entry as the Minnesota Timberwolves, Philadelphia 76ers and Boston Celtics are all in action. Here are some players to consider across the price scale who could hopefully help lead you to a winning entry.

Guards

Kyrie Irving, BOS at DEN ($9,000): The Celtics don't have a lot of offensive weapons, leaving Irving with all the shots he can handle. His 31.3% usage rate is not only the highest of his career, but it also ranks seventh-highest in the league. He's scored at least 41.6 FanDuel points in four straight games and has an excellent matchup Monday against the Nuggets, who allow the fifth-most FanDuel points per game (47.3) to opposing point guards.

Khris Middleton, MIL vs. PHI ($7,500): Middleton continues to be a reliable option in DFS, scoring at least 32.6 FanDuel points in six straight games. He gets a ton of minutes, averaging a career-high 37 per game this season. He's taken on an increased role in the offense with a 24.8% usage rate that ranks third-highest on the team. Add in the fact that he also has 12 steals in the last seven games and Middleton could have significant value Monday.

Terry Rozier, BOS at DEN ($4,700): Rozier sprained his ankle Saturday against the Warriors, but still was able to finish the game. The Celtics are already thin at guard with Marcus Smart (hand) out, so losing Rozier for Monday's game would be another big blow. Rozier scored 21.5 FanDuel points with Smart out Saturday and is worth considering again Monday if he is able to take the floor. Keep an eye on his status throughout the day.

Forwards

Giannis Antetokounmpo, MIL vs. PHI ($11,600): Giannis recently sat out two games to rest his knee, but has scored at least 52.8 FanDuel points in both games since returning. He played at least 33 minutes in both contests, which is a good sign moving forward. His 31.6% usage rate ranks sixth-highest in the league and he gets to face a Sixers squad Monday that plays at the third-fastest pace (102.3 possessions per game) in the league, leaving Giannis with another great opportunity to provide value.

Josh Richardson, MIA at DAL ($6,500): Richardson is averaging a career-high 34 minutes per game this season and has been one of the few healthy players on a Heat team that has dealt with numerous injuries throughout the year. His offensive game is limited, but his added playing time has allowed him score at least 29.9 FanDuel points in six of his last seven games. His ceiling isn't great, but he's priced low enough to warrant consideration Monday.

Jarell Martin, MEM vs. PHO ($5,200): The Grizzlies are dealing with several injuries right now and will be without JaMychal Green (ankle), Chandler Parsons (knee), and James Ennis III (calf) again Monday. Martin, who has played at least 32 minutes in two of the last three games, should see increased playing time. The Suns not only play at the fourth-fastest pace (102.2), but they also allow the most points per game (112.1) in the league. If you are looking to save money at forward, Martin could out produce his price point.

Centers

Dwight Howard, CHA at IND ($10,100): Howard is rolling right now, scoring at least 43.4 FanDuel points in eight straight games. He's been particularly productive on the boards, grabbing at least 15 rebounds in all eight of those contests. Monday brings an excellent matchup against the Pacers, who allow the fourth-most FanDuel points per game (55.7) to opposing centers. His price is climbing, but he can still provide plenty of value.

Al Horford, BOS at DEN ($7,100): Horford doesn't excel in any one area, but his ability to contribute in multiple categories gives him significant upside. He's scored at least 30 FanDuel points in five of his last six games, posting a double-double in each of the last two. The Nuggets have a lot of size and depth up front, likely leaving Horford to play heavy minutes Monday. If you don't want to pay up for Howard, Horford is a viable mid-tier priced option.

Bam Adebayo, MIA at DAL ($4,000):Hassan Whiteside has played 30 minutes or fewer in four straight games as the Heat have been sitting him for good portions of the fourth quarter. Adebayo has been one of the main beneficiaries of the added available minutes, scoring at least 27.4 FanDuel points in two of those four games. He doesn't have much upside, but if you want to take a chance on a cheap center in tournament play, he's someone to consider.
