FanDuel NBA: Tuesday Value Plays

FanDuel NBA: Tuesday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NBA series.

There are only four games in the NBA on Tuesday and none of them jump off the page as marquee matchups. However, there is still plenty of fun to be had on FanDuel. Here are some players to consider using in your entry to hopefully finish your night a winner.

Guards

Damian Lillard, POR vs. PHO ($9,300): Lillard recently missed some time with a calf injury, but he appears to be healthy again, playing at least 32 minutes in three straight games. He hasn't missed a beat, scoring at least 37.2 FanDuel points in all three games. Lillard has played well in two games against the Suns so far this season, averaging 26.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 7.0 assists and 3.5 three-pointers per contest. The Suns allow the most points per game (112.3) in the league, so Lillard could be in store for a big stat line when the evening is all said and done.

Andrew Wiggins, MIN at ORL ($6,500): Wiggins has seen his value take a significant hit due to the addition of Jimmy Butler, as he's recorded only a 23.5% usage rate this year after posting a 29% usage rate last season. The good news is he still has Tom Thibodeau for a coach, so he is averaging a lofty 36 minutes per game this year. He's turned his heavy minutes into at least 33.2 FanDuel points in three of his last five games and has significant value against a Magic team that allows the second-most points per game (111.1) in the league.

Yogi Ferrell, DAL at DEN ($5,300): Ferrell has played at least 33 minutes in three straight games, scoring at least 29.6 FanDuel points in each contest. He's moved into the starting lineup and should see significant playing time again Tuesday, especially with J.J. Barea (groin) already ruled out. In the last eight games that Ferrell has played at least 30 minutes, he is averaging 15.6 points, 6.1 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.9 three-pointers per contest. At this price, he could turn out to be one of the better value plays of the evening.

Forwards

Jimmy Butler, MIN at ORL ($9,400): Butler has really settled in well with his new team and has become their go-to scoring option late in games. His usage rate is down this season as well at 24.5%, but he's still provided tremendous value by averaging at least five rebounds and five assists per game for the second straight season. With the Magic's struggles on defense, the only deterrent to playing Butler on Tuesday is the potential that this becomes a blowout. Even if that is the case, Butler should still be able to provide enough production early on in the game to be worth consideration.

Harrison Barnes, DAL at DEN ($6,800): Like Ferrell, Barnes will also likely benefit from Barea being out Tuesday. Barea has the second-highest usage rate (25.3%) on the team, just ahead of Barnes at 24.7%. Barnes was excellent in his first game against the Nuggets this season, scoring 22 points to go along with 10 rebounds and three assists. With a few extra scoring opportunities potentially in the cards Tuesday, Barnes should provide plenty of value.

Taj Gibson, MIN at ORL ($5,600): Gibson is not a flashy option, but he has still managed to score at least 29.2 FanDuel points in three of his last five games. He's averaging a career-high 33 minutes per game this year, which is important because he doesn't excel in any one category. Tuesday brings an excellent matchup against the Magic, who allow the fifth-most FanDuel points per game (48.8) to opposing power forwards. His ceiling isn't that high, but he can still provide value at this cheap price.

Centers

Nikola Jokic, DEN vs. DAL ($9,700): Jokic provides excellent value across the board, averaging 15.2 points, 9.4 rebounds and 7.6 assists over his last five games. He has significant upside as a result, scoring at least 46.9 FanDuel points in three of his last four games. The Mavericks allow the tenth-most FanDuel points per game (52.6) to opposing centers, leaving Jokic with significant value again in this contest.

Jusuf Nurkic, POR vs. PHO ($7,000): Nurkic scored only 16.5 FanDuel points in his last game Sunday against the Timberwolves, but he was limited to just 20 minutes in a lopsided game. He was playing well heading into that contest, scoring at least 32.6 FanDuel points in seven of the previous nine games. The Suns don't have a ton of talent, but they do have size and depth at center. Nurkic should get plenty of minutes Tuesday as a result, making him a viable option at a reasonable price.

Bismack Biyombo, ORL vs. MIN ($6,400): Biyombo is coming off a stellar game Friday against the Wizards where he scored 51.6 FanDuel points. He has done an excellent job replacing Nikola Vucevic (hand), averaging 10.1 points, 10.9 rebounds and 1.9 blocks over nine starts. The Timberwolves have a big frontcourt, so look for the Magic to lean heavily on Biyombo again Tuesday. His scoring isn't always there, but he can still provide value based on his ability to rebound and block shots.
