DraftKings NBA: Sunday Cheat Sheet

DraftKings NBA: Sunday Cheat Sheet

This article is part of our DraftKings NBA series.

The NBA has a quiet day Sunday with only three games on the schedule. Two of the three games start at 3:30 PM EST, so you'll need to have your lineup prepared earlier than normal. Let's take a look at the players you want to use to end your week in the money.

Guards

Goran Dragic, MIA at CHI ($7,300): Dragic enters Sunday having scored at least 39.5 DraftKings points in both of his last two games. One of those came against the stingy Boston Celtics defense, making it even more impressive. Sunday brings a much easier opponent in the lowly Bulls as they are one of the worst teams in the league at defending the point guard position. In a limited slate, Dragic should have one of the better performances by a point guard.

Dion Waiters, MIA at CHI ($6,100): Waiters might not be the best player on the Heat, but he has the highest usage rate (26.7%) on the team. His 15.4 shot attempts per game is the highest of his career, so he's getting plenty of opportunities to produce. Against a terrible Bulls defense, that's a recipe for success Sunday.

Tyler Ulis, PHO at MIN ($4,200): Ulis has been more consistent offensively of late, scoring at least 12 points in three of his last four games. He ended up with at least 24 DraftKings points in all three of those games, something he had done only once previously this season. The Timberwolves are one of the worst defensive teams in the league, making Ulis a nice value play at this price.

Forwards

T.J. Warren, PHO at MIN ($7,100): The Suns continue to struggle, but it's not because of Warren as he's scored at least 41.3 DraftKings points in two of his last three games. His 24.8% usage rate is second highest on the team behind Devin Booker, who is questionable for this game with a toe injury. The Suns play at the second fastest pace (106.2) in the league, meaning Warren will have plenty of opportunities to be a valuable option for your entry.

Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, BKN at MEM ($6,300): The Nets didn't have a ton of quality depth heading into this season, but they are really hurting now with D'Angelo Russell (knee) out. One of their weakest positions on the team is center and it's so bad that Hollis-Jefferson has been logging time at the five of late. The Nets play at the fastest pace in the league (106.4) and with so few options around him, Hollis-Jefferson is primed for a good performance Sunday.

Chandler Parsons, MEM vs. BKN ($4,000): Parsons doesn't seem like someone you would want in your lineup Sunday as he's only averaging 16.5 DraftKings points per game this season. On most nights, you'd be right. However, this is a great matchup based on the pace of play and the size issues the Nets have. Parsons has scored at least 20.8 DraftKings points five times this season, so there is some value here if you need to save money at forward.

Centers

Marc Gasol, MEM vs. BKN ($8,500): You want to talk about a major mismatch. The Nets don't have anyone capable of hanging with Gasol and his 27.8% usage rate, which puts him in the top-30 in the league. The Nets allow the most DraftKings points per game (63.2) to opposing centers, so get Gasol in your lineup.

Taj Gibson, MIN vs. PHO ($5,500): Gibson has seen significant playing time this season as he's averaging a career-high 32 minutes per game. He doesn't have a very high ceiling based on all of the talented players on the Timberwolves, but he did score 35.3 DraftKings points against the Suns earlier this season. There is a big drop off from the upper tier centers Sunday, making Gibson one of the better cost effective options.

Jarrett Allen, BKN at MEM ($3,200): Someone is going to need to defend Gasol, which could lead to extra minutes for Allen. He played a season-high 24 minutes Friday against the Portland Trail Blazers, coming away with 26.5 DraftKings. If he can come close to that production again Sunday, that's great value at this price. Take a chance on him if you need a dirt cheap tournament play.
