Brussino was waived by the Hawks on Friday, Shams Charania of Yahoo Sports reports.
ANALYSIS
The Hawks picked up the Argentinian off waivers in July, but he's been back and forth between the G-League and Atlanta through the start of the regular season. Brussino hasn't done much to suggest he can be a rotational player in the NBA, and after being waived, a spot in the G-League or a return overseas seem like the most likely outcomes for the rest of the year.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2017
2016
As an undrafted free agent out of Argentina, Brussino inked a partially guaranteed contract with the Mavericks prior to the 2016-17 campaign. Beating all odds, Brussino surprisingly secured a spot on the regular-season roster and played in 54 games. While it was only a small snippet of action, Brussino showed some promise when given extended playing time, though he shot just 36.9 percent from the field and 30.5 percent from deep. However, it was still enough to earn him a look from the Hawks, who claimed Brussino off waivers after being released by the Mavericks in July. He'll have to once again battle for a spot on the roster, but if he makes the team, he could see a slightly larger workload considering the lack of talent on the Hawks roster.
Dallas signed Brussino, a swingman from Argentina, to a three-year, partially guaranteed deal in July, and he'll look to make the roster out of training camp. Brussino offers an intriguing combination of size (6-foot-8) and skill and averaged 14.6 points and 5.5 rebounds per game in the Argentinian Liga A last season. The 23-year-old has considerably upside, but even if he makes the roster, he's unlikely to approach fantasy relevance in 2016-17.
